This past month has been pretty exciting! The school year started, I began working towards some things I'd been putting off, and I've tapped into some more of my hobbies.
School
School started early this month and it has definitely been an experience. I like my classes for the most part, except for one teacher I'm not too fond of and the fact that I wanted APUSH but they put me in regular U.S. History. I have piano for the first time, and I'm in Spanish III. We're going on a field trip soon to a Latino mall and I'm very excited. I also have forensics, and I don't do well in science but so far it's been really fun!
Outside of my classes, I've been trying to get more involved with the school. I got accepted into National Honor Society and my induction is in September. I'm also running for secretary in student government. I joined RISE Helpers, which is the group in my school that coordinates events to maintain school spirit. Most importantly to me, my friend and I revived the party committee that we started last year. We made it official this year and are currently planning our first annual homecoming! I'm super excited for that and for the rest of the parties that we're planning.
Color Palette Challenge
On the more artistic side of things, I did the color palette challenge with some of my artist friends! It's essentially when a group of artists choose a color palette and create art based on that palette. I really enjoyed that and everyone made beautiful pieces. Mine is below, but you can check out the rest of the group's art here.
Routines
I've been saying for the past eternity that I would start working out, and then I give myself a million excuses. But I finally started! Over the summer I made the routine and during the second week of school I got started. My first leg day absolutely killed me, and I'm typing this while experiencing the pains of my second leg day. Core day isn't too bad, and I didn't get to arms last week because I was sick.
Outside of working out, I've also been doing yoga! There's this 30 minute Ashtanga yoga video that I follow every day except Sundays and full/new moons. I've also been journaling at night, and that has helped me work through some personal issues and heal. And for the most part, I've been going to bed at a reasonable hour.
First Waist Bead Order
The waist bead business has been pretty dead considering I haven't been doing much posting/promoting, but recently I got my first order! A girl from my school ordered what's pictured below, and I loved making them for her. Now, I'm thinking about packaging and branding. I'd have to grow a bit to get where I need to be, but early planning never hurt anyone!
Goals/Conclusion
August was great, and I'm excited for September because a lot is happening. I have two field trips, my first homecoming, and my induction to NHS! Be sure to subscribe to get updates on these adventures and any other time I post!
