February Recap

Not a lot happened this month. Part of that is due to the month being shorter, and part of it is due to some things happening in my personal life that have left me unmotivated. Nonetheless, I had fun this month, and I have big plans for March.

Valentine's Day

The best part of this month was, undoubtedly, Valentine's Day! I had so much fun. I made a card for someone, and they really liked it. I also spent the weekend at my best friend's house so that we could do a Galentine's celebration. We exchanged gifts for each other, and on the following Saturday, we went to this restaurant that recently opened in our area. It was so much fun! The place is called Bytes and Brews, and it's a bar mixed with an arcade (but still child friendly). We got burgers and played some games. The games were really cheap, and we had plenty of tokens to bring home. Afterwards, we went to Steak n' Shake to get milkshakes! We tried strawberry and mint chocolate chip, and both were delicious. When we got home, she taught me some bachata and norteña. I'm not the best at it, but I'm getting better.

Poetry

I write poetry regularly, but I don't usually perform it. Most of it usually stays in my notes app. Sometimes I'll share it if I've written it for someone, or with my close friends if I'm proud of it. Any other time, it's getting submitted to an assignment or a competition. However, I wrote two poems recently, and I performed them at a forum at my school. This was big for me, not only because I don't usually perform poetry, but because I hadn't performed anything in front of the whole school since middle school. Even then, I don't believe I have ever performed solo, so this was a first for me. It was very nerve-wracking for me. My heart was pounding and my leg was shaking the entire time. However, I successfully completed both poems and got a large applause. It was a great experience, and I look forward to my next performance opportunity.

Miscellaneous

I've had my butterfly locs in for a long time and they were well overdue for take down. I took them down last weekend, and a small tragedy occurred. I cut some of my hair! Anyone that knows me knows that I have a very strong connection to my hair and I take a lot of pride in my length. I cut off what seemed like a good 2-3 inches, and I ugly cried about it. It took me a good 30 minutes to move on and continue to take my hair down. In retrospect, it wasn't that bad, and it'll even out eventually. But in the moment, I was distraught.

On a more positive note, I finished the Valentine's Minecraft house! It surprisingly only took me a few days, and I was able to design the inside in just an hour or two. I'm really happy with how it came out, and I think it's so cute!

Birthday

Lastly, I have been planning for my 18th birthday party! I've finally finished the biggest parts of planning, and now I am trying to raise money to make my dream come true. Funds are tight at the moment, so assistance would be greatly appreciated. Funds will go towards purchasing everything needed for the party: venue, decorations, DJ, photography, clothing, catering, etc. Any donation, no matter how big or small, is so greatly appreciated. If you'd like to support or share, the link to my GoFundMe is here: https://gofund.me/10ccbe8b

Conclusion

February was fun, but not the best for my mental health. I want to spend March taking care of myself and being more creative. I have some art pieces that I want to get started on, and I might have a big project coming up, so stay tuned. Be sure to subscribe to get updates!
